The Top TV Shows from 2019

Written by Nikki Knapova

I like to admit I am obsessed with TV-shows. I watched a good amount over the years. The very first TV shows I have ever seen would probably be Alias. It is particularly hard to pick my top 5 of favourite shows. My one true love would, however, be Gotham. The shows I write in this article are shows I have been enjoying a lot this year.

Killing Eve

Killing Eve is the story of two women, bound by a mutual obsession and one brutal act. Eve, an MI6 operative, and Villanelle, the beautiful, psychopathic assassin that she has been tasked to find. It stars British actress Jodie Comer as Villanelle and Grey´s Anatomy Sandra Oh as Eve Polastri. It also stars Fiona Shaw and Kim Bodnia. Killing Eve has been nominated for several Emmy awards this year so it´s a must-watch!

The End of the F***ingWorld

The End of the F***ing World is a British dark comedy-drama television programme, based on a graphic novel of the same name by Charles Foresman . The programme follows James , a 17-year-old who believes himself to be a psychopath, and Alyssa, a rebellious classmate who sees in James a chance to escape from her tumultuous home life.

The Magicians

The Magicians are based upon Lev Grossman´s best-selling books. The show centres around Brakebills University which is a secret institution where magic is taught. A group of 20-something friends discover that their favourite magical world they read about is very real and poses a great danger to humanity and also to them.

The Good Place

The Good place is a American comedy series created by Mike Shur in 2016. When Eleanor Shellstrop dies in a freak accident, she winds up in afterlife reserved for only the good people. She realizes she has been mistaken for someone else.  It has four seasons. You can find it on Netflix. It stars Kristen Bell and Ted Danson among others.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Magic and mischief collide as half-human, half-witch Sabrina navigates between two worlds: mortal teen life and her family’s legacy, the Church of Night. Kiernan Shipka (“Mad Men”) stars in this adaptation of the horror comic series by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Riverdale”). You can watch it on Netflix. A new season is coming January 24th!
