However, we were treated to quite a few updates in the beauty industry, including some egg-stremely exciting launches that are happening later this year (apologies for the Easter pun). Here’s your hand-picked, top beauty news for April.
Glossier is coming to the UK
Cult American beauty brand, Glossier, have announced that they are coming to the UK later this year. Although only launched three years ago, they have aken over the beauty world one prettily packaged item at a time.
When the brand does launch, try and get your hands on their top sellers:

Oh, and the brand is 100% cruelty free!
The Ordinary announces their makeup plans and breaks the internet (well, waiting lists)
Colours has (or debatably have) arrived! All 42 of them! Colours is an evolving collection of colour formulations from The Ordinary. The offering begins with lightweight Serum Foundations and highly-pigmented Coverage Foundations with each form available in a comprehensive shade range across 21 shades. Serum Foundations are very low in viscosity and offer moderate coverage that looks natural with a very lightweight serum feel. Coverage Foundations contain higher pigment levels in a non-oily cream texture but still offer a smooth finish that avoids the heavy makeup look that can make skin appear more aged. The pigments used in both formats are treated for a rich, highly-saturated effect. These pigments are suspended in our proprietary spreadability system that allows pigments to look natural on the skin, resist collecting within fine lines and stay on for longer. Both formulations offer SPF 15 protection that's mineral-based and avoid the use of chemical sunscreens entirely. The formulations are and will be the same in all markets but the packaging will claim SPF 15 only in the European Union initially while regulatory processes for claiming SPF in other markets are carried out individually. If you haven’t heard of The Ordinary, here’s the lowdown. They launched in August 2016 but are quickly becoming an incredibly popular but affordable skincare brand. They are innovative, scientific and cheap.
After their skincare success, they have announced that they will be branching into foundation.
But not just any foundation – two different serums, each with 21 shades!
Judging by the apparent 25,000 person waiting list, we might not be able to review this one for a while.
A beauty vlogger got real and helped us all
After Gina Shkeda, a beauty vlogger, received a message from a fan expressing how she wishes she could wake up as beautiful as her, the down to earth vlogger got real.
She replied to the message simply by saying: “Girl I have micro-bladed brows, lash extensions in and lip injections – I don’t even look like this. You’re flawless”

Chrissy Teigen reveals her makeup collaboration with Becca Cosmetics
Chrissy Teigen is my girl crush, mainly because I want to be as funny as her but also because I wouldn’t mind her supermodel looks either.
Well, we’re all one step closer to looking like her after the announcement that she’s come together with Becca Cosmetics to create a limited edition glow palette.
