Fashion’s biggest names have all come together to celebrate the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Manus x Machina exhibition.
The MET Gala is a true spectacle for every fashion lover to behold. The exuberant frocks, glamorous celebrities and of course the fashion disasters. While some wow with their bold designs and gorgeous gowns others simply force us to have a palm to face moment.
JOURDAN DUNN IN BALMAIN
Jourdan has Dunn it again! The gorgeous model stunned in this Balmain silver dress as the outfit smashed the Manus x Machina theme out of the park. This stunning outfit was completed by Dunn’s trendy silver bob which set the look off and gave it that extra umph to gain credibility for best dressed.
KATE HUDSON IN ATELIER VERSACE AND GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI SHOES
Actress Kate Hundson looked beautiful in an innovative and unique Atelier Versace gown with a sweetheart neckline and fitted bodice.
KENDALL JENNER IN VERSACE
Kendall Jenner looked every inch the supermodel in this Versace cut out dress. Pictured on the far right with icon Cindy Crawford in Balmain the photogenic duo commanded every bit of attention in their figure hugging gowns.
POPPY DELEVINGNE IN MARCHESA AND GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI HEELS
Poppy looked 20s chic in a Marchesa gown, Giuseppe Zanotti Design heels and Oroton bag. The model’s blonde pin straight hair looked gorgeous with this sequinned frock and statement jewellery.
RITA ORA IN VERA WANG
Rita’s textured feathered frock looked gorgeous as she posed for photos on the stairs of the MET museum. The cut out features added a futuristic tone to the ensemble which made it every bit Manus x Machina style.
KATE UPTON IN TOPSHOP
Model turned actress Kate Upton donned a simplistic sparkly Topshop dress with bouncy curls and gold accessories. The dress wasn’t the only thing the model was showcasing as she posed with a little extra sparkle on her wedding finger, you guessed it she’s engaged!
SPECIAL MENTION: CLARE DANES IN ZAC POSEN
Clare Danes receives extra brownie points for this magnificent fairy tale of a dress that GLOWS IN THE DARK! Zac Posen has created a revolutionary piece which looks straight out of Cinderella.
So those are some of the top red carpet looks from the MET Gala 2016 but what about those who didn’t quite get it right…
LADY GAGA IN VERSACE
This outfit is just awful. Sorry to be blunt but GAGA what were you thinking?! It is true GAGA style to rock up in something as outrageous as a blazer and severe platforms but this has to be a major no no.
MADONNA IN VERSACE
SELENA GOMEZ IN LOUIS VUITTON
Gomez’s outfit just lacks in impact and effect like some of the other outfits identified earlier, it feels confused with minimal effort put into its conviction.
The MET Gala 2016 has come and gone for another year, which in its whirlwind has inspired fashion trends and enforced fashion sins…until next year!
