Meat-free Mondays: 3 ingredient chilli with 20g of protein

  This recipe is so versatile can be as much or as little as you want it to be. Put it on pasta, rice, a baked potato, in a toastie- you can literally do anything with it. It’s not the prettiest or fanciest of meals, but it will fill you up and keep you going.

  The version I make with ingredients from Lidl comes in at 19.8g of protein. However, whatever brand of ingredients you use will still give you roughly the same protein content. I tend to mix up the spices every time I make it, but I normally dump in a load of chilli powder, basil, salt, and black pepper.


1 can of l green lentils

1 can of taco beans

Chilli powder

How to make:

  1. Add all your ingredients to a heavy based pan and heat on medium for about 20 minutes, stirring regularly.
  2. It’s that simple, I’m not kidding. You’re done. Good, eh?

It ain’t pretty but it’s not like any of us can afford sashimi and champagne.
