New year, new beauty products.
January was a whirlwind of university deadlines and extremely cold weather but still, we received some rather exciting industry updates including a few product launches. So here you have it, your hand-picked beauty news for January 2018.
Glossier launched ‘Solution’ and everyone fell in love
The millenial pink brand seem to have an item on everyone’s beauty shelves these days.
This month they released their Solution, which is a gentle face exfoliator that combines AHA’s, BHA’s and PHA’s (acids) to remove redness, unclog pores and clear spots.
Although it may sound a little scary, the five star reviews filling the internet may change your mind.
It’s now available from their website for £19.
Tarte reminded us of the lack of diversity in the industry
We’ve all heard of the blogger-approved Tarte Shape Tape concealer so when the brand announced they were making not one but two versions of it as a foundation, we couldn’t contain our excitement.
But excitement soon turned to anger when their shade range was announced.
The two formulas, hydrating and matte, are clearly lacking in darker shades which is completely unacceptable.
Tarte issued an apology and promised they’re working on more shades.
If you’re interested in picking it up to try it’ll be available from QVC in March.
The Golden Globes gave us all the beauty envy
Award season is always exciting and seeing ever-changing makeup styles highlighted on the red carpet is even better.
This year we were treated to a smokey eye with a purple twist from actress Kerry Washington, alongside understated waves in her hair.
Katherine Langford, star of Netflix drama 13 Reasons Why, played it safe with green eyeshadow and fresh skin. What intrigued us was her beautiful starry hairpiece that floated down the back of her head – uber cool!
Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadow palette was leaked… again
Creators of the insanely popular Modern Renaissance palette have cooked up another palette of our dreams – but it was leaked online before the brand had announced anything.
The Soft Glam palette is made up of a mix of shimmers and mattes and they range from dusty oranges to soft pinks with a few darker hues in there for good measure.
The brand were devastated that their creation was stolen before they could present it to the world but have now posted on social media that the 14-shade palette will hit stores this March.
We’re pretty sure this will still be a sell-out…
