Eddie Howe has stressed that he is fully committed to his project with Cherries, amid strong rumours the Bournemouth boss’ future lies away from Vitality Stadium.

The Daily Mail reports that Howe is a ‘leading contender’ to take over at Tottenham Hotspur should the London club lose current incumbent Mauricio Pochettino to Manchester United in the summer.

The tabloid lists Howe’s ‘reputation for attractive football’ and penchant for ‘improving his players’ as characteristics that could convince Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to snap up Cherries’ boss at the end of the current campaign.

But when questioned about the recent speculation, Howe said:

“I’m as committed as I’ve always been to the job, every day I’m trying to make the team better and the club grow. I’m focused on our next game, which is tomorrow.”

Howe’s side take on south-coast neighbours Brighton tomorrow, looking to pick up only their second victory in eight Premier League clashes.

Cherries and Tottenham are scheduled to do battle at Wembley on Boxing Day.
