Conor McGregor to star in Games of Thrones

You’ve seen him whoop ass in the ring now he’s ready to whoop ass in Westeros.

It has been confirmed, UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor aka The Notorious is set to make his actorial debut in the HBO hit series.

UFC President Dana White, was the first to respond to reports that the star would join the show and confirmed the news in a Fox Sport live interview:

“I knew a few months ago that they were interested in putting him in the show. I’m glad he did it. It’ll be great.”

However, don’t get too excited just yet! There is still much speculation as to which role McGregor will play, and how big the role will be.

The Game of Thrones Fan site Watchers on the Wall have reported that he will star as a loyal Greyjoy sailor aboard Euron Greyjoy’s ship The Silence. In the last season, the King of the Iron Islands described how he removed the tongues from all his crew to enable silence during a storm. It is believed the UFC star will play one of these mute crew members. If these report are true, this could be slightly disappointing. Especially as fans wouldn’t get to hear the fighter scream:

“What is dead may never die!”

Which we’re sure would scare many fans.
