The Goldsands Stadium will be host to some local football rivalry in the form of Bournemouth v Southampton in July.
It is expected to be a tough match for Eddie Howe’s Championship side, with the 2013/14 season Southampton’s most successful in more than ten years. The Saints are yet to appoint a new manager, with Mauricio Pochettino confirming his move to Spurs in May. Bournemouth’s achievements this season should not be over-shadowed. Having recorded their highest ever finish in the Football League after coming 10th in the Championship, they are expected to put up a strong fight. The fixture is just one of a string of games to prepare the Cherries for next season, with other matches against Copenhagen FC, Salisbury City, Dorchester Town, Portsmouth and Swansea City. The match will take place on Friday 25th July, with kick off at 7.45pm. Ticket details are yet to be released.
