The Musical for which the members of the Performing Arts Society have been practicing for the past 6 months is on its way.

Since October 2015, BU and AUB PARTS Society have been working towards their show in March called The Wedding Singer, a musical adaptation of the popular 1998 romantic comedy film.

The storyline follows Robbie Hart singing the hits of the 1980s at weddings and other celebrations. Julia is a waitress at the events where Robbie performs. When both of them find someone to marry and prepare for their weddings, it becomes clear that they’ve chosen wrong partners.

The cast and production team are made up of AUB and BU students, who are very passionate about singing, dancing and acting. For six long months they have been practicing each Tuesday and Thursday and sometimes even Sundays towards this event.

However, the society is not purely about hard work. Talking to the members it is clear they have all become one family through their fun socials and night outs. As a first year student it can be a very good way to get used to uni life and to make a lot of new friends.

“The Wedding Singer is a feel-good, hilarious, slightly cheesy, slightly cheeky broadway hit musical- and PARTS have been working for 6 months to bring it to life in all it’s glittery glory! PARTS is an active and fun society, which allows every member to be themselves, push themselves, and find a PART that suits them!” – Seamus O’Dare, Musical Director and 3rd year TV Production student.

The Society is very proud of their musical production and is happy to welcome you from the 16th to the 19th of March at the Glenmoor Academy to enjoy their show. Tickets to the event can be purchased online or at the ticket tables in the Poole House Atrium on BU’s Talbot Campus.
