The style icon picked up the award for Album of the year with 1989; making her the only female singer to have picked up this award twice at the event, as well as picking up Best Pop Vocal Album, again for 1989. The pop singer also performed song Out of the Woods from the album.

Adele wore a maroon Givenchy gown looking sleeker than ever on stage.

The night was filled with many musical extravaganzas with Adele performing All I Ask, a new track from her album where she stood on stage with her pianist behind in the simple but powerful way she always does.

However, like most shows, things were bound to go wrong, just a little. Technical problems saw Adele’s performance to not be as flawless as it was supposed to be. It was also released after the show was aired that Taylor Swift shed some tears after making a mistake during her opening performance. But even though things went just a little disarray, it was night of musical magic.

The night was also filled with many performances and tributes. Most notably Lady Gaga with her crazy colourful almost messy performance for the David Bowie Tribute.

Ed Sheeran won numerous awards for his romantic track Thinking Out Loud from album X and Kendrick Lamar also saw success due to being the only artist being nominated a whopping 11 times, surpassing rap god Eminem by becoming the most Grammy nominated rapper. Justin Bieber sang his number 1 track Love Yourself and many more. Most notably the cast of Hamilton, performed their opening theme, to the audiences delight.
