The Yankee Candles worth your precious money this autumn

Autumn is finally here. It’s the season of spookiness, over-priced spiced coffee, looming November deadlines…and candles? Yankee Candle has received at least 50% of my income for about three years now, and their new 2018 Autumn range has seen me sink into a worse state of poverty.

If you’re already on the lookout for Christmas gifts or just a little something to make those winter evenings less bleak, then look no further. I’ve crafted a list of the best cosiness-inducing candles just for you.

Ginger Dusk

Although not a new product from Yankee Candle, Ginger Dusk has been a firm favourite of mine for a long time. The warm, subtle ginger scent is appropriate for both warm summer nights and rainy winter afternoons, making a great gift for someone who uses candles year-round.

For some reason, I find the wicks on Ginger Dusk tea lights produce a really small flame compared to other tealights in the range and don’t burn so well, so it may be worth investing in a small jar or votive instead.

Autumn Night

This is a new scent introduced for 2018’s autumn range. When you initially smell the unburnt candle, the scent does appear very heady and a little men’s aftershave-esque. I was doubtful, and truthfully I only bought this because I thought the label was pretty (shallow, I know).

I’ve now been burning Autumn Night for a few days and I’m totally in love with it. For me, this is the ‘cosiest’ Yankee candle I’ve ever tried and I really hope it returns for next year. If you’re doubtful about the scent, try it as a smaller votive and then invest in a large jar if you like it.

 Trust me, it’s worth it.

Autumn Pearl

Yet another of Yankee Candle’s 2018 Autumn range and it is stunning. Autumn Pearl is a very subtle scent, reminiscent of other classic fresh scents such as White Linen and Lace. I wasn’t as won over with this scent as I was with Autumn Nights, however, I think this is set to be really popular as it’s less of an acquired taste than other scents in the range.

If you’re looking for something fresh and uplifting, but still cosy, this is the one for you.

Luscious Pumpkin Trifle

Probably the most millennial sounding candle in the new range, Luscious Pumpkin Trifle seems set to be a returning feature for autumn next year. I thought this scent might be too rich, but I am now falling in love with it. Everything from the label, to the candle colour and scent is so festive.

100% recommend, especially for anyone who is a spiced pumpkin latte fiend.
