When Christmas comes to Bournemouth, it doesn’t hold back! This year the Gardens are full of Christmas trees of all shapes and sizes, and it looks absolutely incredible.
The Gardens and the town center have been transformed into a festive trail of over 100 trees and illuminations this Christmas. Last night the lights were turned on by Santa and the cast of Sleeping Beauty before fireworks exploded into the sky from the middle of the sea.
You could barely move through town as families flooded to explore the attractions. There are trees of various colours, shapes and sizes, lights hanging from every tree possible and huge baubles provide the perfect backdrop for a cheeky Instagram pic. Welcome to Christmas Tree Wonderland.
As usual, the Alpine bar is open, serving you beer and mulled wine from an alpine lodge right in the middle of the square. The ice rink is all set up, and you can even grab a pint (or a stein) before you head out on the ice for a bit of courage from Moguls Bar.
There are so many stalls to do some last minute shopping at: soap, fudge, cheese and home accessories. You could head down to the seafront and get on the Big Wheel, which is illuminated every evening so you literally cannot miss it. Gingerbread people, Santa’s Grotto, the Upside Down house and giant teddy bears. It will be tricky to see it all!
We truly have our own free winter wonderland in Bournemouth this Christmas, and if you ask us, it’s the best year yet! Head down with your mates to have a beer or some mulled wine, or it would make a great date-night. Whenever you go and whoever you go with, you’re sure to be truly taken aback by the effort that has gone in the Christmas. We know we are!
