Hello all Nerve Readers, I’m Dan Harden, I shall be staying up till 4am live updating the Oscars this Monday Morning. Because who needs sleep? Brad Pitt starred as Stuntman Cliff Booth in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. He thanked Tarantino, co-star Leo DiCaprio and the cast and crew of the film, especially the long underappreciated stunt coordinators and crews.

Not such a surprise Pixar wins yet again. The director and producers thanked their families and the cinema going public. Also Hair Love just won Best Animated Short. The filmmakers dedicate their speech to representation in the film industry, which certainly is relevant at this years awards ceremony. They ended by paying tribute to the late Basketball legend Kobe Bryant. Well done to all the Animated winners.

Unfortunately, Panic! At The Disco aren’t at the Oscars to perform their Frozen 2 song Into The Unknown. Instead we have, As John Travolta knows her, Adele Nazeem (Idina Menzel) and Elisa’s from across the globe are in attendance to perform the Oscar nominated song.

Without a doubt, a shame Pain and Glory didn’t take it home, but this marks South Korea’s first win in the category and makes Bong Joon-Ho a two time winner. The director expressed the new direction of the name change from “foreign language film” to “international feature film” and his pride in being the first winner under the new name. One of my favorite actors of all time wins his first Oscar 20 years after his first nomination for Gladiator. Overwhelmed with gratitude, he speaks of using is voice for the voiceless and the fight against injustice. The actor delivers an inspiring speech about the worlds egocentric world view and how we need to implement systems of change that benefit everyone. He finished his speech by quoting his late brother River Phoenix “run to the rescue and love and peace will follow.”

What! A! Win! History has been made tonight. The right film won in my opinion. This writer is extremely happy with how these awards have turned out. This win is a true testament to how good international cinema can be and how everyone should try to watch more subtitled films. International films have some of the most engaging and investing stories. What a night. Thank you for reading my live feed. I don’t know if I can sleep now I’m so happy!
